When you think of a frame, this is probably where your mind goes. Browse some of our previous designs here.
We straight cut this mat to reduce the distraction of the white bevel. Keeping the bottom mat very thin, we only hinted at the pink colour. Classic white frame to keep it clean. Artist: Krystal Lynn; Ballerina Kiwi
This signed Dick Frizzel was given a pop of colour with a double mat to match the blue in the image.
A gorgeous pastel drawing in a classic white double combo.
This print was framed so the edition number can be seen. This white border of the paper creates an illusion of a double mat.
This 3000 piece puzzle lived under the bed for 12 years before it was given a new breath of life and framed with care. A missing piece was recreated digitally and added in house to disguise the hole. Can you find it?
When you can't choose the perfect image, multiple window cut outs are a creative way to display a range of images. An unfinished pine frame leans into the beachy feel of this photo shoot. Photographer credit: Ruth Gilmore Photography.
When a client brought in a Channel and Prada print, a black frame felt like the obvious choice.

Originally an Op Shop find, these prints were brought in having seen better days. Representing the four seasons, we framed these with a single mat and four window cut outs to clean up the edges.
These paintings were brought in with matboards already. We provided a warm rimu stain frame, in a smaller profile, to blend in with the bright colours.
Part of the Art Waikino 2024 exhibition, this finely detailed pen work fantail was framed twice. Once with the blackcore mat, and again with the taupe stained ashwood frame. Antiglare ArtGlass UV70 finished it off, allowing total clarity to view this artists amazing work. Artist: David Richardson.
This trio of signed Rei Hamon prints were poorly frame, and showing signs of degradation after 70 years. Now framed with a blackcore mat, creating a crisp line against the art, and antiglare ArtGlass UV70 glass. These are sure to last another 70 years.

Originally this client had decided on a classic plain white look. However, once in the studio and able to view all of our samples, the creativity started to shine. We chose a dark blue mat in keeping with this rich prints design, but chose to only show 15mm of it. The rest is a generous white frame to balance the design, and anti-glare ArtGlass UV70 to help the art shine (pun intended).
